Our client, UK’s leading bespoke socks manufacturers, are looking for a Quality Control Technician to join their team.
Main Purpose of the Job
To work closely as a member of a dedicated team, undertaking repair and maintenance of machinery used within the factory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
— To undertake installation, programming, maintenance and basic repair of machines
— To maintain machines whilst conducting trial runs to sustain production needs
— To identify and repair programming and processing errors on knitting equipment
— To inspect yarns and socks produced in order to ensure high levels of quality
— To adjust machine settings and programmes and meet design specifications, performing style and size changes
— To troubleshoot mechanical and electronic issues
— To protect the organisations reputation by keeping pricing, promotion, purchase order, and credit-limit information confidential
— To achieve organisational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
— To be a highly motivated individual with sound knowledge of Sangiacomo sock knitting machines
— To be competent in programming and developing designs using Supergraphics software
— To be adaptable, and work effectively in a changing environment, and involved in the development of knitted technical textiles
— To be able to work independently and well as a member of a busy team
— To be willing to undertake any additional training as appropriate
— Analyses plans, drawings, specifications and safety, quality, accuracy, reliability of Machines
— Compiles detailed instructions on processes, work methods and quality and safety standards for workers;
— Devises inspection, testing and evaluation methods for bought-in machines, it’s components
— Ensures accuracy of machines, jigs, fixtures, gauges and other manufacturing and testing equipment
— Prepares plan of sequence of operations and completion dates for each phase of Production or processing;
— Oversees effective implementation of adopted processes, schedules and procedures.
The suitable candidate must have relevant experience of working in a similar environment/establishment.
